Before You Book Us, We're Going to Ask You a Lot of Questions. Here's Why That's a Good Thing.
We’re going to be upfront about something: the first conversation with us is not short. We ask about your day, your people, your vibe, your worries, and a handful of things you probably haven’t thought about yet. It might feel like a lot. Here’s why it’s actually the best part.
We're Not Just Booking a Date, We're Learning Your Story
Anyone can ask for a date and a headcount. We want to know how you two met, how the proposal went down, and what you’re most excited about when the day finally arrives. Not because it’s cute (although it is), but because those answers tell us what to watch for. The couple who lit up talking about meeting online? We know there’s a story there worth catching candidly later.
We also ask about the photos you already know you want. A specific landmark, a certain shot you’ve been picturing for months, that one detail you’d be devastated to miss. Tell us now, and it’s already on our radar before we even show up.
The Questions That Feel a Little Personal (On Purpose)
This is where it gets interesting. We’ll ask about family dynamics. Who needs a little extra patience, who should definitely be in the family photos, whether there’s anything cultural or religious we should know about going in. Nobody loves talking about family stuff with someone they just met, but trust us, it saves everyone from an awkward moment on the actual day.
We’ll also ask how you feel about posing. Love direction? Prefer to just exist while we lurk nearby with a camera? Somewhere in between? There’s no wrong answer, but knowing it ahead of time means we show up already speaking your language.
Vibe Check: The Most Important Question of All
Eventually we get to the good stuff. How do you want the day to feel? What do you want to remember most when you look back years from now? Is there a mood, a film, a vague “you’ll know it when you see it” reference that captures what you’re picturing?
These questions might sound soft, but they’re the ones that shape everything. They tell us whether to lean cinematic or candid, quiet or energetic, classic or a little unexpected.
By the time we’ve gone through all of this, we’re not walking into your event as strangers with cameras. We’re walking in with a plan that’s actually yours, built around your people, your story, and the version of the day you’re hoping to remember.
So yes, expect a lot of questions before you book Vivid Focus Photography. It’s not small talk. It’s the groundwork for everything that comes after.
Got a date in mind? Let’s start the conversation. Reach out to Vivid Focus Photography and let’s get to know each other before the cameras come out.
